But why? What's the point? Is this some sort of childish "if it's live action it can be taken more seriously" mentality?

I feel cheated. The Avatar reincarnates every generation, so a new series could have been set in the distant past or the distant future… Going back to the Aang well for seconds is just 100% cash grab. NO THANKS.
