If they'd had actually watched the special, they'd know he really didn't say anything disparaging about trans people. He made a big point that out of all the groups he's ever made fun of, they're the only ones that froth at the mouth and come after him. He spent like a solid 30 mins telling a story about a trans person he greatly respected and mourned the passing of. To see all this outrage tells me they saw some headline like "Chapelle makes jokes about trans comedian who committed suicide" and just stopped there.

Treating transgenders as this sort of sacred cow that must never be made fun off or critiqued is pretty regressive actually the fact we have people here that actually support this mindset is sad
