This console version of a 20 year old MMO in which official servers no longer exist has an offline mode which allows it to still be playable compared to modern online-only games. Ubisoft has no excuses.

I groan every time I see a game with this label, or a Switch game that says a download is still required for all game data because the publisher couldn't be assed to print the game on higher capacity carts (I'm sure Switch 2 is still gonna use carts and I really hope publishers don't cheap out yet again; I mean Saber Interactive got Kingdom Come: Deliverance on an entire cart, so it feels bullshit when a bigger company like EA or WB slap a "download required" disclaimer on the box).

LET. ME. PLAY. OFFLINE! You fuckers had no problems making games have offline modes in previous generations, but now with all this "games as a service, even if it's single player" shit they want people to be connected to servers 24/7. Shit like this is making me want a return to the early 00s sixth gen era, where online gaming was becoming more of a thing on consoles, BUT at least when the online aspect of a game got shut down you could still play the game offline even decades later.
