Sonic the Hedgehog - Image #715,189

This guy is Ken Penders, he used to work for the Sonic Archie comic as a writer and illustrator. During his time there he made many characters, quite a few becoming fan favourites either during or after he left. However a while ago he claimed copyright for all his characters and somehow managed to remove those characters, about a hundred of them, from the comic entirely. This has lead to a lot of hate towards him since he's practically screwed the entire sonic comic universe. Then to add insult to injury he's planning to redesign (rather horribly too) some of those characters and put them in his own comic book, keeps going on about how Archie and Sega are the ones at fault, keeping hold of the characters he isn't even going to use in this comic instead of letting them return and here claiming that he made knuckles likeable.
This is a very oversimplified (and probably biased) view of it and I'm missing some details, try looking it up yourself.
