Hello there. I've been on Tetsuya Nomura's wild ride since 2005 (aka THIRTEEN FUCKING YEARS), so allow me.
Disney characters have absolutely no reason to be in this series, it's just there to add a less-than-serious tone to the otherwise bleek and more serious story actually being presented. Why yes, the series that has the words "light", "heart", and "darkness" used literally thousands of times actually has a serious thing going on.

You have to understand that the mix of tones is incredibly cheesy almost on purpose. It's weird seeing Goofy and Cloud in the same game, but it's something you have to get used to. The games themselves actually play really well (except KH1, Chain of Memories, Re:Coded, and 358/2 Days), and KH2 is considered the best one currently, until KH3 comes out in 5 months.

Even as a devout Kingdom Hearts fan, I admit that the series has some severe moments of Narm. But a key thing to a lot of these bits of dialogue is the lack of context.

Example: Without context, Roxas asking Xion who else he'll have ice cream with is stupid. But within context, he is a humanoid monster that can't have any emotions, who's spent almost every day eating ice cream with his companions after missions. He is essentially asking "Who else is going to be my friend?" to a dying buddy, because eating ice cream with his coworkers is the only definition of friendship he can think of.

Of course, there's always going to be lines that are bad no matter how you slice it. "Totally owned you lamers" in particular sucks eggs. Ugh.
