Reddit's /r/dankmemes is one of the most famous sources of memes out there. With over 5.3 million members and a highly active community, the subreddit is at the center of online culture. It is also highly exclusive: in order to maintain high standards of quality and prevent spam, you must have at least 1000 karma on Reddit to gain posting privileges in /r/dankmemes.

If you don't have at least 1,000 karma points, you can prove yourself to the admins by posting on a different subreddit: /r/SpecialSnowflake. The subreddit exists for if you believe you are "a special enough snowflake and your memes are of high enough quality that the usual rules shouldn't apply to you. Here are 10 posts from /r/SpecialSnowflake, created by people trying to get onto /r/dankmemes.

Protesting The Rules

About a quarter of the memes on /r/specialsnowflake are about the subreddit itself, and the struggle of being an up-and-coming memer. 4/10

A Pleasant Meme

(Source: Reddit)

This meme is the sort of thing that warms your heart, and who wouldn't accept his offer? 8/10

Up And Slothin'

(Source: Reddit)

Spotify

(Source: Reddit)

This one is basic and yet true. It's the meme equivalent of observational humor, of a Seinfeldian sort of "what's the deal with airplane food" kind of joke. 7/10

Raising An Interesting Point

(Source: Reddit)

While this meme is also highly relatable and evidently well-written and crafted, something about the visual balance between the cat and the human figure seems off. 5/10

WW3

They Do Were Be Like That

(Source: Reddit)

This meme goes right to the point and hits at something deeply true. It also manages to be dumb at the same time. 9/10. In the opinion of this reviewer, should be allowed immediately onto /r/dankmemes.
