The Carhartt brand has historically been known as tough and dependable, usable by construction workers and other blue-collar types who are out there doing a rough and tumble job. Recently, however, the brand has found itself a new surprise demographic: the urban streetwear group.

With Carhartt starting to approach the Supreme level of streetwear recognition, it's become a bit of a meme. A similar epidemic could be seen in the early '90s when grunge music had everyone buying and dressing like lumberjacks for a few years. In a similar result, some of these fashionable dripped out guys are finding themselves getting gatekeeped by others making memes out of them.
