I Love This Thing IDK Why People Hates It So Much is a blobslop webcomic by artist Mhuyo in which the protagonist is surprised with the hate a cute character from a show is getting, but quickly changes their mind upon watching the show themselves, squishing the character's figurine. Posted in mid-May 2025, the comic spawned an exploitable meme format, with users editing in various characters that could fit the premise of the comic.

Origin

On May 12th, 2025, artist Mhuyo posted a four-panel cartoon in which the protagonist states that they are surprised that the Chiikawa character Momonga is hated by some fans. They then proceed to watch the show, which makes them change their mind and smash their Momonga figurine. The comic (shown below) garnered over 11,000 reposts and 149,000 likes on X^[1] in one day.

On May 13th, 2025, Mhuyo shared^[2] a template for the comic with the text removed.

Spread

Starting on May 12th, 2025, users on X shared memes based on the comic, using it as an exploitable and editing in various fictional characters.

For example, that day, X^[3] user @InfinityKnight9 posted an edit featuring streamer Lythero that received over 40 reposts and 1,000 likes in one day (shown below).

On May 13th, 2025, X^[4] user @RosalineDjelia posted an edited version featuring character Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy's, also altering the dialogue. The post (shown below) garnered over 170 reposts and 4,200 likes in one day.
