As someone with an unused Quora account, I can say the website is sometimes useful. Every once in a while, I'll see an email notification about someone who asked a question that piqued my interest, and it's always interesting to see what people have to say on the topic. However, sometimes people come up with absolutely unhinged questions (or answers) that seriously worry you regarding what this person does in his/her normal life.

Quora isn't necessarily the best place to seek help regarding personal or legal troubles, but sometimes people find that they have nowhere else to go and decide to ask very unhinged questions on the website in the hopes that the anonymity will keep them from being publicly shamed.
