When done well, tattoos can be amazing things for some people. They can be used to show creativity, to make someone feel more confident, or to commemorate a person, place or thing. The key term in all of this is "when done well." It is unfortunately easy and sadly common to see massive tattoo fails. Tattoo fails are especially bad because well, they're permanent. Getting a tattoo removed is expensive and painful, and getting it covered up is also expensive and runs the risk of an even worse outcome. It's important to put a lot of time, money, and thought into getting a tattoo to not end up with something majorly embarrassing stuck on your skin forever.

Reddit has a few different subreddits dedicated to sharing and shaming (and even self-shaming) bad tattoos. These subreddits are full of some horrifying creations that are so bad they're kind of funny, in a sick way. Here are 25 terrible tattoo fails.
