Twomad is a notable controversial figure in the meme space, and given his recent passing, there has been a lot of buzz about him online. His initial spiral into virality was when the clip of him falling in a Twitch stream blew up online. Dubbed "Goodnight, girl, I'll see you tomorrow," it quickly rose to popularity in 2019, kickstarting his career as a prominent YouTuber and Streamer.

Who Was Twomad?
Twomad was a Canadian YouTuber and streamer who is very well known for his gaming meme montages, commentary videos, and other forms of streaming content. Starting his YouTube channel on April 2nd, 2016, he garnered over 2.2 million subscribers, he then went on to create his second channel on Aug 22, 2017, where he uploads YouTube commentary videos (example shown below).
Twomad is most known online for his viral meme: "Goodnight, Girl, I'll See You Tomorrow." He also popularized other meme trends online, such as the Baba Bouey sound effect, being prominently featured on streams as a sound. In 2022, Twomad had a photo shoot with popular E-girl and explicit content creator Belle Delphine, which generated lots of online discourse, particularly due to his Donkey Kong costume, which some speculated to have some racist undertones (shown below).
What Is 'Goodnight, Girl, I'll See You Tomorrow'?
The meme comes from a viral video of Twomad saying 'Goodnight Girl, I'll See You Tomorrow', before dropping down and distorting his microphone (original video below). On June 8th, 2019, YouTuber IGamer 11 posted a cut version of the video, gaining over 82,100 views in one month. It would gain even further traction after being uploaded to the /r/youtubehaiku subreddit, where it gained over 6500 upvotes in eight days.
How Is It Used In Memes?
In its prime, the clip was quickly turned into a greenscreen that many would use to make a variety of memes. The very first edit of the video was uploaded on June 22nd, 2019 by Instagram user @shutupjonah, gaining 4,600 views and 1,200 likes in two weeks (shown below).
A couple of examples include one made by Instagram user fr1ck.mp4, which was later reuploaded by Twomad himself on his personal Instagram account (shown below). Over time, more edits were posted on Instagram by notable meme content creators such as cut_mp4 and thi.ccmemes.
