Almost exactly four years ago, the Twitter bot @StreamerBans posted the earliest known notice that Dr DisRespect was banned off Twitch, with journalist Rod Breslau confirming that the ban was actually permanent soon after the news spread.

A clip from Dr DisRespect's last stream also began making the rounds soon after his ban, during which he can be seen thanking his fans for watching the stream and then looking at his phone. His demeanor noticeably changes after he checks his phone, leading many to conclude that this was the precise moment he learned about his ban.

Why Was Dr Disrespect Banned From Twitch, and Why Are People Claiming That He Groomed Someone?

On June 21st, 2024, former Twitch employee Cody Conners posted a series of tweets claiming that Dr. DisRespect was banned from Twitch because he was allegedly caught using a (now defunct) Twitch messaging platform to send explicit messages to an underage girl and that he even tried meeting up with her in person at TwitchCon.

As of three days since Conners' post making the claims, the allegations remain unconfirmed, but that hasn't stopped them from spreading like wildfire across social media.

How Did Dr DisRespect and The Twitch Community React To The Accusations Of Grooming?

Dr DisRespect posted a series of tweets responding to Cody Conner's posts, saying that he "didn't do anything wrong" or "illegal" and that his contract was paid out in full.

Some users have since noted Dr DisRespect's perceivably vague response, speculating that he may have been texting an underage girl in a state where the legal age of consent is 16. Other fans posted memes and jokes about Dr DisRespect being a predator as the rumor continued to spread in late June 2024.
