Cursed TikToks Twitter Account Calls Out Jukin Media After Suspension

The Cursed TikToks Twitter account, known as the preeminent source for TikTok schadenfreude on the social media platform, has been permanently banned.

Over the last two months, the account managed to gather over 330,000 followers by posting quality content sourced from the depths of TikTok's neverending pool of cringe. Sadly, those followers woke up yesterday to find their strange TikTok portal unattainable.

On Instagram, the TabooTikToks account has been quick to point a finger at the entertainment company Jukin Media, claiming they were able to take down the account with claims of copyright infringement. According to Mashable, Jukin "finds undiscovered videos, buys them or strikes a revenue share from the owners thirsty for viral fame or money. It then licenses the clips for rebroadcast -- to everyone from the local news to highlight reel shows on MTV."

Hi everyone! As you may have noticed, the account’s been suspended. You can thank JukinMedia @JukinVideo and @JukinEthan on Twitter for that. Ethan contacted me yesterday to let me know they owned the rights to 6 videos I had posted. I agreed to take them down, and asked Ethan to provide me with the links to the tweets in question. He did not. He sent me a link to the Jukin website, where I was unable to identify a single video posted on my account. Ethan proceeded to DMCA one of my videos, refuse to send links to any further videos, and issue 5 additional DMCA claims at once, permanently suspending me. After speaking with a variety of people, I have learned that this is a common practice for Jukin. To buy semi-viral video rights from people who don’t know any better and use it to attempt to leverage and extort money from accounts and channels that repost them. Jukin is predatory, Jukin will take advantage of you, and Jukin is responsible for my account being suspended despite my multiple attempts at compliance. Thank you all so much for supporting the account while it existed. It was a lot of fun. I’m sorry I can’t curate bad content for you anymore.

According to TabooTikToks, the Cursed TikToks feed had agreed to take down any videos that Jukin might own but claims they were not given a list of infringing content.

However, like a hydra with its head cut off, it almost certainly won't be long until another Twitter account rises from the depths to reclaim the throne and provide all the cringe content we desire. Until that time comes, enjoy some cursed TikToks from our own collection:
