There were a lot of emotions swirling around the meme-verse this week. While many were content to chill out like the "chill guys" they are, others were overcome with disappointment after learning about the outcome of the biggest fight of the year.

Then, women of the internet decided to flip the script on men with an unexpected series of memes about the fields they dominate, while more nostalgic social media users dredged up an ancient piece of artwork from DeviantArt to turn it into one of the biggest nostalgia-bait memes of the year.

Clearly, a lot was going on this week, from the most niche corners of social media to the overcrowded streets of TikTok and X. Here are the memes that deserve your attention.

Just a Chill Guy

Chill guys (and girls) everywhere have been eating well this week thanks to what can only be described as the golden age of the "Just a Chill Guy" meme. How can you not love this chill dog, with his stylish red sneakers and that sly look of superiority?

The so-called "Chill Guy" was created by artist @PhillipBankss over on X / Twitter way back in October 2023 and first went viral between August and September 2024 on TikTok. Then, all of a sudden, the meme blew up even bigger on TikTok and X this month when people started using the character in memes about, well, being a chill guy.

Now we've even got a "Chill Girl" to keep the Chill Guy company, not to mention about a dozen meme coins based on the characters. Unfortunately for those coin creators (and the many people who used the meme to advertise their businesses) the artist is working on cleansing the timeline by copyrighting the chill guy.

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul and Mike Tyson's "Big Reveal"

Netflix's big Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight happened late last week, and while it was a big disappointment for any Tyson fan out there, at least we got something out of it. That something, it turns out, was Mike Tyson's cheeks.

During a pre-fight interview, millions of fighting fans were shocked when Tyson turned around to reveal his bear derrière to everyone. The moment instantly became a meme and, honestly, may live on as the most memorable part of the night, which essentially just became a way for Jake Paul to unload all his frustrations on an elderly man.

Of course, that wasn't the only meme the fight gave us. Social media also experienced a wave of memes about who Jake Paul might challenge next, the joke being that everyone he challenges is far older than himself, assuring another win for the social media star.

Women In Male-Dominated Fields

In what might be considered a bit of an opposite to the "Chill Guy" meme, the phrase "women in male-dominated fields" also became a big meme this week on TikTok and X, but it's not necessarily about the workforce.

The meme is all about women flipping the script on men by doing or saying something that might commonly be attributed to a guy. Just about none of these actually have to do with male-dominated fields of work. Instead, the meme focuses on stereotypical male behaviors, like going to see your ex a day after breaking up with someone or refusing to text him back but liking his Instagram Story.

Infinite Crushed By Thwomp

Fans of the YouTube series "Death Battle" got a banger of an episode this week that led to a surprisingly big meme in and outside of the community, with "Infinite Crushed by Thwomp."

The episode saw Bowser and his minions face off against Dr. Eggman and his minions and resulted in a hilarious scene in which Sonic the Hedgehog villain Infinite gets crushed by Thwomp and defeated in seconds. This is especially funny for Sonic fans who know how obsessed Infinite is with being perceived as strong.

Memes about the encounter went viral across social media, with both Sonic and Mario fans agreeing that the scene is just straight-up funny. Plus, it kind of makes sense when you consider how it happened, according to one YouTube commenter whose analysis went viral.

We Still Talk About You

To finish this week's roundup off with a somber end, one of the bigger memes on Reddit and X this week was inspired by a piece of art originally posted to DeviantArt back in 2009. The art, which seems to show a girl mourning her dead cat, is known as "We Still Talk About You," and somehow, meme lovers found a way to make it funny.

The meme has been growing more and more popular since October and hit its peak this month. Essentially, memers have been replacing the cat in the image with a funny character or nostalgic symbol to make it more relatable and humorous on a broad scale.
