Daddy Chill meme star Tippy, AKA Tiffany Jade.

Where Are They Now? Here's What Tippy, Star Of The 'Daddy Chill' Meme, Has Been Up To Since His Viral Moment

The clip of a man saying, "Daddy chill," in a feminine-sounding voice to an atomically angry father is the most iconic part of a YouTube video you probably haven't ever fully seen.

Tippy, AKA Tiffany Jade, is a YouTuber best known for his confrontation with a very angry older man, who responded to his request to "chill" by sputtering, "What the hell is even that," after a pregnant pause.

Tippy's improvised dialogue became more famous than the YouTube video it was originally clipped from, going viral in the form of Facebook and Reddit reposts several months before the dialogue also trended online as a lip-sync sound on TikTok — ultimately becoming known as the "Daddy Chill" meme.

Here's a look at what life has been like for the "Daddy Chill guy" after his rise to viral fame, from trolling gamers using a "girl voice" for his niche YouTube to coping with sudden internet stardom and finally embracing the meme.

What Is The Origin Behind The 'Daddy Chill' Meme and 'What The Hell Is Even That' Video?

In early 2019, a video of an angry older man raging at a gaggle of people in his backyard went viral online. As funny as it is to see a dad blow his casket at (presumably) teens encroaching on his turf, there was one part of the video that really tickled viewers.

Mid-screaming match at one point in the video, the camera pans away from the dad and onto a bearded man wearing a wig, who says, "Daddy chill," in a breathy feminine voice. A brief silence ensues, followed by the angry man saying, "What the hell is even that?"

The nearly 20-second clip initially went viral online in 2020 and was shared on Facebook, Twitter / X and Reddit before it spread on TikTok as well. The out-of-context clip went viral in spite of the confusion surrounding its premise, such as, "Who was the bearded lady?" "Why was that dad so angry?" and "Why was his son trying to give away his dad's pool house to Miguel?"

How Did 'Daddy Chill' Become A Viral Catchphrase?

The clip of Tippy saying "daddy chill" only for an angry dad to snap back and say, "What the hell is even that," began making the rounds a year later in August 2020 when people started lipsyncing to the 20-second clip on TikTok.

Videos of young men annoying their dads by telling them to "chill" in the most breathy, feminine voice they can muster were a routine occurrence on TikTok back in 2020, as were amateur animations reinterpreting the video.

How Did Tippy Even Get Involved With The McJuggerNuggets Video?

Back in January 2019, Tippy found himself in the midst of filming a YouTube video for a channel he barely knew. YouTuber Jeffrey Ridgway Jr., AKA McJuggerNuggets, was in the throes of filming an episode of his "Psycho Series" in which he, his brother Jesse and his father Jeffrey routinely got into blowout fights filmed as though they were entirely real.

Tippy had been invited by his friend Miguel to film a backyard party scene for a McJuggerNuggets video called "Eviction Day!" that followed Jeffrey throwing a massive party in his backyard and trying to "give away" the pool house to Miguel, only for his "Psycho Dad" to come back home and cuss everyone out.

The virality of the "Daddy Chill" bit had people seeking out the video it was clipped from, but funnily enough, Tippy isn't shown anytime before or after that segment.

He seemed to have been placed in the video just for that particularly well-timed comedic gag, with the rest of it being dedicated to showing the interfamily disputes of the Ridgway clan.

How Did Tippy Even Get Involved With The McJuggerNuggets Skit, And How Does He Remember The Viral Moment?

According to our interview with Tippy in 2022, he had never met YouTuber McJuggerNuggets before the clip and has never really seen the entirety of the video that made him go viral.

During our discussion, he recounted how he was making iPhone camera sketches in which he embodied his alter ego Tiffany Jade back in 2019 and had never really made high-production value YouTube content like McJuggerNuggets was at the time.

Tippy said that they were at the filming of the video because of their friend Miguel, the one dressed in red who had supposedly "won" the Ridgway pool house.

Miguel had called them to the party that was later broken up by Psycho Dad, and Tippy, in his own words, was "really confused" by the whole scenario. He knew who McJuggerNuggets was from what Miguel had told him, but he wasn't really prepared for Psycho Dad's power trip.

Tippy swears that his interjection wasn't planned but that he really felt the need to interject in the middle of the screaming match because he felt like "it would be really funny." Tippy continued, "I was just like a plus one, so I got there and all this screaming, screaming, screaming is going on. I was like, 'You know what? Let me just say something real quick,' so I was like, 'Wait, wait, wait. Daddy, chill.'"

How Does Tippy Describe His Life After The Daddy Chill Video Blew Up?

Tippy had always known that he was particularly talented at doing "girl voice" and had begun his internet career by trolling men on Omegle and Fortnite by acting like a woman in voice chats. He recounted his time working at a job he didn't quite like during our interview and also talked about the sheer luck through which he ran into Miguel, the friend who took him to the McJuggerNuggets party that ultimately resulted in the viral meme.

According to Tippy, the fame he experienced in the aftermath of his video going viral felt unreal. After initial concerns about his parents finding out about his alter ego blew over, Tippy started embracing how he was being recognized by people both IRL and online.

Tippy is proud of how "Daddy Chill" wasn't the start of his internet career since he had saved up to buy an iMac months before that viral moment and had already gathered over 30,000 followers for his gaming content long before the McJuggerNuggets video. It was only after the viral moment that he decided to fully embrace Tiffany Jade and lean into making more content featuring his alter ego.

What's Tippy AKA Tiffany Jade Been Up To Since Their Viral Moment?

Nowadays, Tippy (Tiffany Jade) continues to make YouTube and TikTok content for his sizable fanbase. Tippy considers himself to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community and mentioned in his interview with us that there was a disconnect he initially felt between McJuggerNuggets' "very straight" audience and the audience he had built for himself.

Eventually, Tippy managed to leverage both his original fanbase and his viral moment into a full-time YouTube career as he's capitalized on his internet fame.

Tippy began focussing on something he calls "girl voice trolling" for his YouTube content soon after 2020. In this type of content, he dolls himself up and does his voice exercises before logging onto a gaming server or an anonymous video chatroom and baits men into chatting him up before surprising them with his appearance.

Sometimes, Tippy recruits the help of his friend, who he calls his "Hot Sister," to perfect his trap.

Tippy said that he does his "girl voice trolling" style content just because it's really fun. He's been doing his "girl voice" since 2012 and has perfected the art.

About his "girl voice trolling," Tippy told us, "[There's] something about trolling people and then getting their reaction to when they see that I'm a 6'1" man with a wig and a beard, they’re like, 'Whoa, where the f--- did that voice come from?' So I just think their reactions are funny. And I like making people laugh, so."

Tippy also noted that his viral fame made him change the way he viewed himself when he was younger, stating that he saw what happened when he stopped doubting himself and committed himself to a goal he's had for ages.

Today, Tippy has over 300,000 YouTube subscribers, which is 10 times the number he had before his viral "Daddy Chill" moment. But more than that, Tippy has found a way to quit a job he hated and find a community that loved him for who he was.
