The accusations originally surfaced in November 2023 when R&B singer Cassie Ventura filed her lawsuit. Discourse about Diddy's allegations predominantly surfaced when American hip-hop producer Rodney Jones, aka Lil Rod, filed his lawsuit against Combs, alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault and the trafficking of minors. Reactions and memes surfaced en masse on social media sites like Twitter / X and Reddit, many of which centered on Diddy allegedly having gay sexual relations with Meek Mill and Usher as implied in the court documents released from Lil Rod's lawsuit. In March 2024, Diddy's Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided by U.S. Homeland Security. Diddy was not arrested at either residence and he was purportedly flying to the Caribbean to seemingly avoid authorities. Memes and reactions about the raids surfaced en masse in the following days.

Purportedly, in late May 2024, Cameron signed on to stay at the Airbnb for 28 days, then, after the 28 days, claimed that she stayed there for over 30 days so she could claim squatters rights and continue living in the home for free. As retaliation, Asian Andy and Carrey went to the home in late June 2024 and attempted to make Cameron's life as difficult and miserable as possible to try and force her out, later uploading highlights of the situation to YouTube in August and September of that year. On July 12th, 2024, Mary Cameron filed a wrongful eviction lawsuit against the home's owners.

It is suspected that the user also ran the accounts truth_sticks_11, girl.chloe12 and several other accounts that posed as children, which similarly posted creepy, sometimes AI-generated and surreally edited photos of children, with girl.chloe12 posting images of what appeared to be a real girl rather than an AI-generated person. The content has been described as predatory and fetishistic, with some speculating that the accounts could be linked to an age-play kink, while others speculate they are used to prey on minors. Several comments left by Smartschoolboy9 on children's Instagram accounts suggest this, although it is unconfirmed if the user has any known victims. In 2024, internet sleuths began investigating the accounts as Smartschoolboy9 garnered virality. Purportedly, Smartschoolboy9 was run by a Doncaster, England man named David Walter, who has allegedly been spotted dressed in the makeup and outfits as early as the late 1990s. Smartschoolboy9 has purportedly responded to accusations of being a predator using social media accounts that are believed to belong to him in which he seemingly denies being predatory.
