How about we ban them so less people will die.

Rocket Propelled Chainsaw!
A real life version of this only it can't be folded and it actually fires.

How about a gun that's so accurate, it'll never miss a shot, or you'd have to be a complete idiot to fail at aiming properly.
How about a gun that shoots spiders.
Or…
A bullet that shoots guns. They will never see it coming.

With a few minor adjustments, you can turn a regular gun in to five guns.
If the pen is mightier than the gun, what if i made a pen gun?
A pistol with explosive bullets?
"Oh, no, I'm out of ammo! Better switch to my emergency sidearm!" annihilates everything

I'm a pretty big fan of coilguns (A.K.A Gauss guns). Here's a gif which should explain roughly how they work:
With current-generation firearms, ammunition storage is a pretty big problem. A standard NATO 5.56mm magazine is fairly bulky, despite only holding 30 rounds. Considering an M4 can burn through that in less than 3 seconds of sustained automatic fire, it's clear that there's room for improvement. With a coilgun, the ammunition isn't pushed out of the barrel by expanding gases, but instead is pulled out by a series of electromagnetic coils. The weapon itself does the accelerating, so the magazine need only hold the projectiles. This would allow you to store potentially hundreds of rounds in a standard-sized magazine.
In order to maximise the velocity of the projectile, it helps to make the ammunition long, thin, and ferromagnetic. This means that the ammunition could be partially (or entirely) made from steel, which would make it absurdly effective at penetrating armour. You also wouldn't necessarily risk damaging the barrel by using all-steel ammo, since the strong magnetic fields would prevent the rounds from touching the barrel if it were slightly wider than the rounds themselves. Also, with such a design it would be easy to vary the exit-velocity of the projectiles, which would allow you to silence the weapon at the push of a button.
There are several major issues getting in the way of their development, with the main obstacle being power sources. With current technology, we just can't deliver the incredibly strong pulses necessary to accelerate the ammunition to supersonic velocities (not without destroying components, anyway). There are also issues with rapidly switching off the coils once the round has passed through them, and issues of the round itself becoming magnetised during acceleration.
It's a cool idea though. Some hobbyists have come up with really badass designs:
How about a gun that shoots swords?

what about a gun that shoots… like… mini-sandwiches…

A gun where the explosion chamber is soundproof. It takes a while to shoot, because of the heat yet it would be extremely silent.
