I recently found out through an interview with Masahiro Sakurai that famous Japanese comedian Ken Shimura, best known for the long running sketch comedy/variety show "Bakatono-sama" (a character whose name is literally "Lord Stupid," and is a parody of feudal Japanese lords), died in late March from Covid-19 and this news shocked the general Japanese populace enough to make average Japanese citizens start to take the whole thing more seriously.
This lead me to wonder, how many more celebrities (or at least notable names) who aren't famous in the English speaking world have died as a result of this disease?
