I've posted a handful of the goofy looking covers from the "school adventures" books but one in particular keeps being deleted (I'm assuming by the mods) when I try to post it. Why is it an issue?

In none. That first cover posted by OurDeerLeader actually meets criteria of its gallery. From what I briefly saw of your postings, they just don't fit anywhere on KYM as they weren't really connected to any meme.
