As the title says: what are your predictions for 2023? What do you realistically see happening? It can be anything, from what new games you see coming out to geopolitical shifts.

A couple guesses for 2023 are:
1. The war in Ukraine is definitely gonna continue past its 1 year anniversary, and Ukraine will probably start making inroads into Crimea

2. I think a recession is all but guaranteed unless some other miracle happens.

Ok, y’know what? Those 2 kinda are a bit gloomy, so a positive prediction I’ll make is that we’ll make even more progress on Fusion.

-First prediction: Given the recent shitshow in the U.S. House of Representatives voting for the speaker, Republicans will have a hard time uniting to operate the branch of government they just controlled, and a harder time to have their nominee for President win in 2024.
-Second prediction: Given constant discussion, high support, and close to nothing in his way of challenging his power, Ron DeSantis will announce a run to become president in 2024 around late Spring or early Summer. But he would then be hindered by his lack of restraint with his power as Governor, and somehow abuse it to the point where even the typical "swing voter" would notice and have second thoughts, even with Joe Biden's unpopularity. Also, Trump would quickly respond to that kind of announcement.
-Not really a prediction but a worry I have for this year: If North Carolina State Legislatures are victorious in Moore v. Harper and the Independent Legislature Theory prevails, our elections would be screwed (more than they are right now).

You know…the usual

People will start getting nostalgic for the 2000s like people get nostalgic for the 90s with 00s kids being a thing, which will be understandable as the 00s WERE better times.

The 2000s were the decade our freedoms were legislated away, we found out about the rape gangs and the illusion of a benevolent government shattered to pieces.

The only thing I am nostalgic from that decade is the video games, the free uncensored internet and the blissful ignorance.

I remember wishing I could go back in time like Butterfly effect but I don't remember anything and I am just a year and half old when I was 10.
What made me a bit conservative was that I used to dislike changes in my town because I would forget how town and stores looked like so I would just try to remember anything. I was stupid to use the phone to take pictures of anything when I got because I didn't expect changes.
My only hope is trying to find images of my town before changes.

An obvious one, but an all-out war between Russia and its allies vs the US, NATO and their allies will break out. It'll be known as WW3.

The economy will slowly return back to normalcy since covid is long done for and the whole spat against Russia and its ensuing electricity crisis is making people reconsider how to stay independent. Some folks even want nuclear plants to be active again (although not a big fan of that)

Because Trump will most definitely rerun for prez I think he won't get as far as he did last time.

The next upcoming games will be so incredibly predatory that the feds in the US will investigate the corpos making them like they did for Mark Zuckerberg sometime back in 2018 or 2019.

Democracy backsliding.
