Turns out that, similar to Chadwick Boseman, Reubens had kept the information about him having cancer a secret from the public, so this definitely comes as a shock.

As someone who loved watching Pee-Wee's Playhouse as a kid and still considers Pee-Wee's Big Adventure one of my favorite Tim Burton directed films, this definitely sucks to hear.

I remember having a few episodes of Pee-Wee's playhouse on a vhs growing up, my brother and I watched it a lot. We also had Big Top Pee-Wee which isn't the best, but I have nostalgia for. Hearing his death was a bit shocking for me.

Never watched the show, but I loved the Tim Burton's film as a kid. I imagine Reubens wanted to go out with a quiet dignity and, possibly, not upset his fans over his cancer diagnosis so he stayed quiet.

This scene always cracked me up.
