Bragging about karma is something I don't condone, and I learned my lesson about it the last time I did it. But this is insanely epic, and it doesn't happen everyday.

Magic number is 1337. Message from the heavens? Blessing from the glorious Ceiling Cat? Who's to say, maybe a wizard did it. Any way, this is pretty amazing.

Wow, I want to give you karma for that wonderful feat. But then I'd ruin it. I'll just present you with this.

To answer your question yaiqan, karma doesn't really serve a purpose apart form giving you a general indication of whether or not people are liking the things you say

Usually you can assume that:
-If your post gets positive karma, people generally enjoyed what you just contributed.
-If your post gets negative karma, you just pissed a whole bunch of people off.
But that isn't always conclusive.

For functional purposes, karma can be used to hide posts. If your posts gets -5 karma then it gets hidden. But nothing happens if the reverse occurs.

Well, you can try to first use positive karma and then use your total karma……
I'm not the only one, people like RandomMan and Mellow already got it long before I did.
