Look carefully at the bottom corner of the top right piece as it moves into place. Clearly, it is too small to form a full piece with the square it lands on. If you pay attention, you can see that at the exact moment they meet it cuts to the completed square. So, there's your trick.
Oh, and Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
