The Hard Rock Nick Death Rumor refers to a viral rumor that TikTok and Instagram influencer Hard Rock Nick passed away in September 2024. The claim spread online in late 2024 as Hard Rock Nick had not posted since August of that year. Users purportedly obtained a record of his death and began posting "rest in peace" (R.I.P.) posts commemorating him in the following months. Some also believed that Hard Rock Nick had faked his own death.

On November 23rd, 2024, X^[1] user @goldensuspended tweeted, "RIP to Hard Rock Nick. Court docket confirms he died on September 29, 2024." The tweet included a screenshot of a court docket concerning an individual named Nicholas Johannsen, alleged to be Hard Rock Nick's real name. Over nine days, the tweet received over 1,400 likes (shown below).

Hard Rock Nick's then-latest TikTok^[2] video was shared on August 11th, 2024.

About a month prior, on October 17th, 2024, a since-deleted Redditor^[3] started a thread on the subreddit /r/DannyGonzalez about a man who committed suicide in Fort Meyers, Florida possibly being Hard Rock Nick. However, commenters claimed that there was no obituary for Hard Rock Nick shared within the timeframe.^[4]

The rumor of Hard Rock Nick's death spread online in the following weeks. For instance, on December 1st, 2024, TikToker^[5] @pinkbongwatr posted a video about the rumor, gaining over 430,800 plays and 52,800 likes in a day (shown below).
