What is the most beautiful video game music you ever heard?

for me, it's the music from the Pikmin series, but for my other siblings it's the music from the Legend of Zelda games. sure, LoZ is incredible and epic, but Pikmin music is so simplistic and at the same time wondrous, much like the world of Pikmin itself. it's a perfect fit where the tiniest of musical themes is enhanced solely because the simplistic melodies and chords just mesh perfectly.

for example, the ending theme of Pikmin 3 (EVERYONE PLAY PIKMIN 3 IT'S SO ADORABLE AND EPIC) just builds and builds in tiny amounts eventually leading to a Pikmin-sing ending

@Joe great choice but the best Katamari song to me is and always will be Que Sera Sera!

As for my choice of most beautiful vidya music, it's a toss-up between Alone from Persona 4 or Starsailor's Way to Fall in Metal Gear Solid 3… The latter is especially great because it plays right when you need a sad song (suffice it to say the end of the game, if you somehow don't know, is rather touching yet depressing).

There's some background song in Fallout 3 that I've always been fond of. Occasionally I'd stop whatever I was doing just to listen to it for a while. I can't really explain why, but I always felt it was the perfect backdrop for the wastelands. The interesting part starts at about 0:55.

…Of all the vidya music in my top 25 overall music (which is in fact 23 pieces of vidya music), I can't really recall many offhand that could be regarded as 'beautiful'. Awesome, sure (If OP asked for awesome I know exactly what to post) but not beautiful…..

I…. Guess this would count?

First off when I think of the most beautiful would be "Ezio's Family". It just gives a feeling of indescribable loneliness and loss whenever I hear it…….

Then there's the song used in the trailer for Dishonored, "What Shall we do with the Drunken Whaler?" It's just so magnetic because it takes something that's so upbeat and joyful and distorts it into something sad, ominous, mechanical, and terrifying……..

This:

Why? Because of the sentimental value you get out of it at the end of the game. When you first hear it, you fucking know. You know that the end is nigh, and you're left with so much sadness because you kind of feel that your quest has led to this, but it won't matter in the end, because you really don't want to save the world, because it means your destruction. Actually pretty dark for a pokemon game.
Because textile hates me here's the link: Sacrifice

I can't spoiler tag properly to save my life, so I'm just going to link mine.

Medal of Honor Frontline OST – After the Drop

from the same game – Arnhem Knights

This game – what I though would turn out to be just another forgettable world war 2 shooter before I played it – gave me feels at every turn. It's easily one of the most memorable games I've played because of the music and has one of the best OSTs out there imo.

I enjoy every version of this theme, but the one used in Super Smash Bros. Melee is the best in my opinion.

I love how well this them fits the beautiful yet dangerous world of Monster Hunter.

Just epic.

Very haunting. I wish it was used more during the game, though.

I really love the electric and face-paced sound of this track.

This is also Culex's theme in Super Mario RPG.

For some reason, I like this version of Cynthia's theme better than the ones in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Black 2/White 2.

The Ace Attorney series has a beautiful soundtrack (Especially the Reminiscence songs, which are enough to make me cry sometimes)

It's hard to go for just one, so I went for four. My favorite two would be Turnabout Sister's Ballade and The Bitter Taste of Truth (The latter is probably my favorite video game song of all time)

The Professor Layton series is another game with a beautiful soundtrack. This song in particular gives me chills when I listen to it.

After recently replaying Katawa Shoujo, I remembered how amazing the soundtrack really is. Out of all the songs, this one is my favorite.

Now considering video game ost's are the subject matter I tend to get most carried away on, I'll stop while I'm ahead.
