So to go together with the screen-name thread here's an av thread because why not. Why'd you pick your av whether it's permanent or just for today or whatever?

For me I just picked Lana once to hype for Hyrule Warriors and then when I actually got the game Lana became my life so I kept her for a while before changing to a bunch of stuff later. I then chose Melia from Xenoblade because she's also amazing, and then I wanted a permanent av so I literally made a strawpoll of which people wanted and Lana won, so Lana I am. The current one is just really good art and Hero made it a PNG for me so it looks good on the forums. The other one I like to use if anyone's seen it is a cut-out of Link ecchi RM shopped for me.

I pick Gorillaz-related avatars because I like Gorillaz.

I plan to keep my KYM avatar as Erwin/Riko, other places like YouTube and Steam change from time to time.

For me it's what interests me at the time, First was GiantDad, but let us get into my current one. I chose Margaret for the fact that I recently played NMH 2 and loved her boss theme. Also the fact she's a Gothic Lolita.

When it comes to my avatars in general, I usually chose cute anime girls. Because I like cute anime girls, and I like thinking of myself as a cute anime girl even though I'm a cow of a woman in real life. I'm more likely to choose a picture of a monster girl or one of my waifus (Mami Tomoe, and Rosa to name a couple,) because monster girls are bae and so are my waifus.

For my actual current avatar, I am a slime girl. Why? Slime girls are one of my favorite types of monster girl, and this slime girl in particular is looking kind of lewd, and that's always good!

Well I had a couple avs, the first few were Sgt Arch Dornan because I like Fallout, next was Bandit Keith from Yu-Gi-Oh! because he's cool, then Dickson because he's one of my favourite characters from Xenoblade, and now's its Gendo Ikari because I trying to get into Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Squigly is qt and "thats not how it works you little shit" is a funny phrase.

My avatar is just a caricature of myself I drew in Art Academy: Sketchpad. Since I don't want to sound like a broken record for just saying what it is I'll go into it a bit more. The reason behind it being in grayscale is because one of my many artistic inspirations are golden age of animation black-and-white cartoons and I've also never really liked coloring things. To put a little bit more character into my drawing I sketched out a small drawing of Stocking from panty and Stocking onto my shirt, because Stocking is the best.

I usually choose AVs from things that I like. Which is a lot of stuff. From the top of my head, I recall using catgirl, 40k, monstergirl, Star Wars, Halo, and Metroid related AVs.

I choose avs based on things I like, and I like to rotate between them to "keep it fresh". Right now I'm using THE ORIGINAL PARTY WORM, SLURMS MCKENZIE, because I love Futurama.

Mine is currently Robo Fortune because she just got released as DLC for Skullgirls proper.

I don't really like Sanae, I just liked the art style and the obscure meme reference.

Because I'm a dirty, dirty art thief.

Zangoose is my favorite Pokemon, even though it's not the best technically.

Peacock is adorable. That is all.

Well back when I was MiloticExalted I still had a Milotic as my av. But then I left for awhile because I felt I needed a possibly-permanent break from this site's antics. But lo and behold, I ended up coming back. So what better way to revive a dead user than use a zombified version of my old av.?

This is permanent. I'd call it brand recognition, but basically I want people to know I've been here a while.

Funny enough I've had this name long before this avatar. I had a different avatar for a whole of about 1 hour on this site before I stumbled upon the crying Ruby Rose gif and I was like "Ok well that's going to be my new AV right this instant", and it was so.

I don't plan on ever changing this but if I do it'll probably still be something with Ruby Rose since I kind of associate my profile pic with her at this point.

Because I have no confidence in my artistic skills to post a original work as an avatar, which leads to choosing a visual that vaguely, very vaguely represents my actual looks.
First, It was Gaia Online, then Yahoo! Avatars, then Xbox Live Avatars.
The cycle will continue until I finally achieve the resolve needed to publicly display works I may or may not be proud of.

It's usually the same character, Eris, all the time. I picked it to stick with the whole "trap" thing. But I decided to go with the character because the original avatar was the only thing in my downloads folder that caught my attention.
