"Memeory Lane" section of the forum. I legit thought that was just a spelling error for a long while, until I said it out loud. Now I'm like "wow I feel dumb."

Also re-watching Animaniacs as an adult is a different experience than watching it as a kid. Back then I watched it for zany cartoon antics, nowadays I watch it for both that and to see how many 80s and 90s pop culture jokes I recognize.

I used to watch quite a bit of the Simpsons when I was a kid, to the point I could quote quite a few phrases from it, or keep them in my head for a long time. Every once in a while I'll think of an episode and realize there was a joke that I completely missed as a kid. Of the top of my head, Troy McClure and his "Those weird things they say he does down at the aquarium" followed by "That's just an urban legend. People don't do that type of thing with fish." and then showing his bed with a giant aquarium right behind it.

"Vanilla Ice" and his stand "Cream"= Vanilla ice cream, the scene where Valentine receives his father's handkerchief is a reference to Pulp Fiction

Like Jacob, I understood a bunch of Simpsons jokes when I got older especially movie references

I always read it as "Memory Lane".

For me, I think a few of them would be these scenes from Spongbob Squarepants:

My favorite "joke i missed as a kid" type thing is this:

It still blows my mind that they played actual NFL footage in a Spongebob episode.

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.
It took me until highschool to realize that the joke was really about the chicken commiting suicide its to go to the afterlife.
