In the spirit of halloween I decided to make a thread about nightmares that we've had. If your story is NSFW please put it under a

like this

I'll start:

My nightmare begins with me not being able to control myself, I have a knife and I'm cutting my fingers off. Suddenly, one of my cats walks in and I attack her. I cut her throat and she's bleeding and suffering. Now I am able to control myself again and I begin crying over what I've just done. Then, I finally wake up with the cat I "killed" next to me and she starts purring as I pet her.

I know this may not sound much to you but me killing someone from my family (and yes my pets are a part of my family) is the most horrible thing ever for me and I was so happy that it was just a messed up nightmare.

I have a recurring theme nightmare that always starts out like some random normal dream but I always get into a confrontation with some random person (like standing in line at a grocery store) but when I go to yell all my teeth break into a billion pieces and I have to keep spitting them out or they'll choke me and if I talk above a whisper it happens all over again. I always wake up with a really dry mouth. I've read that it means I have difficulty with public speaking and that is sort of true, but it's not that bad so I don't know why I would be having nightmares about it.

I remember that one dream i had as a kid.

I was chased by an army of vikings and i was telling myself to "wake up"
Then i "woke up" and there was nothing but a dark room with a candle and someone that said that it's traditional to place a lighted candle near the bed of persons who sleep without breathing
I was like wtf and closed my eyes only to get that viking dream again. every time i "opened" my
eyes, the dark room was visible and everytime i "closed" them i was back in the viking dream.

Thank goodness i have more WTF-dreams then nightmares

I also had a dream once that i was participating in a SAW game, the only thing i remember from it was my arm getting sliced vertically without me feeling any pain.

I have a political view that war should only ever be used in self-defence, that's it. If it doesn't, it will have horrifying consequences. This is important when I am about to tell you this dream I had.

I dreamt of 3 generals trying to prove to each other who has superior military. Initially it looked disney levels of cartoonish. One general, raising his fisticuffs said "chaps, you know who is superior".In fact they all looked pretty British in they way talked with thick moustaches. However once they started fighting, the charm started to fade and it started to get ugly. They become more aggressive, beating each other and firing their rifles. There were casualties on all sides. It got up to a point where they merged into this horrible ugly beast.

The beast was terrifying, with a loud roar. It was the collossal size of a building, and it roam nation to nation killing everyone as efficiently as it can. You don't won't to think about it, all you want to do is just run. That is the point where I just woke up.

When I was a kid, my parents bought this wooden rocking horse. I don't remember having any particular thing against it (then again I was like 4 at the time), but what I do remember are the nightmares that occurred frequently because of it. In my dreams, the rocking horse would chase me through my house, and when it finally caught me, it started eating my hands. It got to where I couldn't fall asleep without putting my hands beneath my pillow (a habit which has persisted to this day even though the dreams are gone), but the dreams persisted nonetheless. It got to the point where I was too afraid to get anywhere near the horse, and my parents decided to sell it, and the dreams stopped afterward.

Another more general nightmare that occurred throughout my teenage years was a dream where I was being chased by random people (didn't know who they were, never got a good look). I would start running in the opposite direction and suddenly fall. I would scramble away, trying to escape, but I never could bring myself back to my feet. One time it was a pack of wolves instead of a person. Regardless of who was chasing me, it was always a terrifying experience.
