Give Normal Things Weird Names

One of my favorite things in Pikmon is how everything is named. Since the protagonist(s) are (humanoid) aliens and mere inches tall (if that) they have a unique perspective which leads to funny names for everyday objects. I'll start with a few examples. (They don't have to be from a Pikmin point of view, but they should be at least somewhat odd and make at least a little sense.)

Treasured childhood blanket → Monster-proof fabric
Jack-in-the-box → Crankshaft terror
Bunny → Terrified cotton golem
Earbuds → Lesser sound python
Earphones → Greater sound python
Mud → Hydrated soil
Star → Celestial gem
Math → Number propoganda
Christmas Tree → Festive pine (disposable)
Aluminum Christmas Tree → Festive pine (tacky)
Classical music → Methuselah's groove

(Actually, I love Classical music, but boy is some of it old! Which isn't necessarily bad. And no, I don't think math is propoganda-- it was the closest word to manipulation (the deceptive kind) I could think of.)

So, yeah. List your own re-wording(s) here. Feel free to post only one or a ton, I guess. Let's have fun being creativ-- you know what? Forget that last part. Thanks in advance for your precipitation.

Like when someone who doesn't speak English natively forgets the word for something.

I had an Asian roommate during this summer course I did in Hawaii, she always wanted to borrow my Vogue and Cosmo and would ask me to help out with words sometimes. She asked me for the "paper cutters for fingers" and that took me a minute lmao, she wanted my cuticle scissors.
