Well I mean swearing on a bible doesn't seem to make our "Christian" senators any more truthful about their policies.

In Poland, at the very end of your vow, you can either add or omit "Under God's guidance". I wouldn't just say it, as some people do. It's that simple.
Rest of the vow is swearing for your country, laws, constitution and people. Those are some good things to swear on.
