Unpopular Opinions of different time periods

Just a fun variation on the "Unpopular Opinions" thread over in general, where instead you give what you believe would be a good example of an unpopular opinion relating to different eras in time. Doesn't have to be an opinion you really hold, this is a joke thread after all. An example would be something like "Unpopular 1980s opinion: I think Michael Jackson was better when he was doing disco and funk."

Anyway here's one:

Unpopular 1990s opinion: "I prefer playing Doom on console over PC."

"Louis/Ludwig XVI of France was a good leader and totally not a wimp"

-said someone during the 10th of August 1792.

"Czar Nikolai II did nothing wrong" -said someone during October Revolution

"Sun doesn't revolve around the Earth. It's the vice versa" -Nicolaus Copernicus, between 15th and 16th century

"I hate Juice" – Hitler, 1939 (Who tf hates juice?)

[Also low-key, tfw Warriorman tried to prove that it was the French and not the Normans that invaded England in 1066 and I had to correct him :^)]

[tfw he probably thinks the Normans are french too]

Actually, before WW2, Hitler actually managed to fix a lot of Germany's economical problems. So, this was actually a pretty popular opinion.

Plus, a reminder that he was elected democratically at first, he siezed the power later.

Technically, he had a huge following in the Germany itself.

Hitler was even named a TIME Magazine "Person of the Year" in 1938 due to his efforts to bring Germany back from the poverty it was left in after World War I. It wasn't until he became a dictator, started invading other countries, and ordering his soldiers to round up and kill anyone deemed "impure to the master race," that Hitler was then seen as a horrible person whose reign needed to be put to an end.

It's worth noting Stalin was TIME's Person of the year literally one year later, so yeah hard to think nowadays that back THEN these infamous dictators were actually well liked among the average American populace (well okay neo-nazis still unironically see Hitler as someone who "did nothing wrong," but the general American population often see Hiter and Stalin as being brutal dictators whom some people would gladly kill if given the opportunity).

No citizen of Rome needs a ballista, you're probably just compensating for your short gladius and plebeian birth
