And yes the reason I ask this is because that's exactly what happened to me recently. I never bought one of these blind bags before, but when I was at GameStop to pick up a recent pre-order I was stuck in line for like 10 minutes because someone ahead of me was taking forever to get something, and I looked over at the wall of collectibles GameStop sells and saw RWBY blind bags/boxes. I had a spare $7 on me so I figured "oh what the hell" and grabbed one. After buying it I went "you know it'd be cool if it turned out to be Blake, she is my favorite character, but eh I'll be fine with anyone." Out of sheer luck it turned out it really was in fact Blake in the box, and I was like "now I understand why some people think they have psychic powers when a really happy coincidence like this occurs."

Have you ever bought a "blind bag" collectible and actually got what you wanted from it?

Nope. That's why I never buy surprise boxes/bags.
Yes because i recognize the figure inside by touching the package.
No because we don't have such fun novelties here. Well, aside from Gashapon machines. If those count, then I have, once, three months ago.
I was at Kinokuniya(a Japanese chain of bookstores) browsing video game art books when I came across some Gashapon machines. Every Kinokuniya store, at least in this city, has several machines, each with different prizes which are shown on the machine. This one in particular was Dragon Ball themed and had this neat Majin Buu figurine strap. I figured since I was there that I might as well give it a go. It was my first ever Gashapon draw so really I was okay with getting whichever prize. I give it a spin, I get my capsule, I open it, and yup, you guessed it, it was the Majin Buu strap.
Over the next three months I went back to the same store and tried my luck on the YuruYuri machine. I got three different figurines over four tries, which is pretty lucky, I think, considering the machine only had four types.
