Alright, so I go to high school. I'm a sophomore, and I pretty much remembered the whole building from last year.
But I had the worst experience just about a week ago.
I was coming into school, y'know? Just walking along, trying to get to first period, talking with some friends… And I saw a hallway I had never seen before.
"Is that new?" I asked my friend.
She looked at the hallway and gave me a look like I was crazy. "That hallway's been there… You're so dumb!" She laughed, and I laughed, but I still wondered what was down the hallway.
So enter the end of fourth period where we have lunch. I decided to not go to my friends this lunch and check out the hallway I had never seen before. It was a curious hallway, actually. Dimmed lights, empty, and no doors or windows except at the end where a double door was (which I assumed was the exit).
Naturally, I walked down it. I could hear the chatter of the people outside disperse from my ears, and only after about 10 steps did the sounds disappear. I was scared, certainly. And then I heard a loud SLAM behind me…
The entrance to the hallway disappeared. And it was pitch dark now.
And that was not the scariest part. Only a few seconds later after that, I felt somebody breathing down my neck.
"Are you a boy… Or a girl?" it asked. Naturally, I screamed and ran for the end of the hallway, which is the way I assumed the door was.
"What's your name?" it called after me. I was so scared and everything I didn't even rationalize the situation. I just flung open the doors… And then… Tall grass was all around me.
Just to think, a field of grass which I have never seen before, was surrounding me. I was just going to run into it, hoping to lose this stranger that was chasing me. Or I assumed it was.
I ran for the grass, but the person yelled, "WAIT!!" I stopped. I couldn't move. I was paralyzed in my spot, scared out of my wits, ready to die. And then the voice spoke again… "You can't go into tall grass without a Pokemon!"
And that's how I met Pikachu.
