After I signed up for Know Your Meme, I was having a hard time deciding what my display name would be. I was thinking of some awkward choices, one of them being Rainboulder Dash. Have you had any other thoughts about your display name?

I used to be called Demisonic on the internet. Cause I was a big Sonic fan (yeah, I know, don't say anything about it)
Unfortunately, cause of the shitness of the site, I'm stuck with the awful name on Deviantart, as the site doesn't allow you to change usernames.

Lol! I know what you mean. For a while all the good names had been taken, so my Runescape name was Catman 910 and my yahoo e-mail was same_game_name. I've been using same_game_name for several different sites for a while now…that is until ponies. Now i'm Ginger Snap because that was the only good thing I could come up with that incorporated "Ginger"

I used to be yeti_hunter on some sites. After most of my yeti_hunter account got hacked, I decided on CheezLordLol. My PSN, due to some problems, is spelled "properly" as in CheeseLordLol. Fei Hazelwood is also my name on other sites.

Why would you ever want to change your display name? I couldn't imagine doing that.

Sarcasm aside, wa-a-a-a-a-a-ay back in 1990, when I got my first e-mail ever, I was attending the University of California at Santa Cruz, and I had just gotten my first tattoo, a phoenix on my arm. I chose firebird@ucscb.edu and I have occasionally used the handle "Firebird" here and there.

In general, though, when I signed on to the forums at about.com (which may have, at that time, been known as miningcompany.com, and definitely was affiliated with delphiforums.com) I tried to get the user name "bbrucker". I was given the name "bbrucker2", despite the fact that there did not seem to already be a "bbrucker" or for that matter a "bbrucker1". Ever since then, I've used bbrucker2 for just about everything, including this project that I was heavily involved in before KYM.

In most places when I was just starting to actually explore the internet, I usually had names like "Rico". Then, later on, I started liking the name "Bruno". But now, on KYM, I've only gone through one change of names: I've gone from RussianFedora to Dr. Zoidberg and then back to RussianFedora. And now, every place I register on I have "Fedora" In my name. AtomicFedora, IronFedora, Fedora, etc. etc.

Back when I first made an account for any forum site, I was obsessed with Super Smash Bros. and I went with the name smashmaniac. I was young though and was total newfag. Now I'm Derpy and KYM oldfag.

Rawk, saw it on brawl and liked it.

Due to my uncreativeness beyond belief, the only think I could come up with was Dane, which is my name. My PSN name is DaneB3396 (which is a boring ass name) so I probably would have done that if I didn't choose my own name to be my username.

I came up with Vulcan0110 because I'm a Star Trek fan and the second part is a palindrome. However, I thought about changing the number to the word "Ohio" to become VulcanOhio. I think it has a nice ring to it, like a military code name.

Well both Tht Gy and Captain Badass come from inside jokes. I'm keeping Captain Badass though because it sounds like a name.
I remember when I played/was extremely addicted to runescape. My username then was Necolord, which is Neclord from Suikoden with an o in it, because I couldn't read properly at the age of 9.

My internet name has always been RedSyndicate. First website I ever needed a username for was some space empires MMO back in 2006, and I wanted to make a communistic state, because back then I was heavily into pro-soviet stuff. Nowadays I am much less of a communist, but the name stuck, and I haven't deviated from it.

I've never had to think about changing my display name because it is never taken before me.
