Why do they even bother downvoting, and how do they find the images? If they're not being uploaded to an entry's gallery, how does anyone even know they're there?

They still appear in the image stream, and can be seen by everyone from there. It's why I always remove the image once I posted it in the thread, so that the image stream isn't filled with them.

No, I mean just actually clicking "remove" on the image, like any user can do with their own images. When you click "remove", you technically aren't removing them from the site but only hiding them from public view (except from mods).

If you post them in the thread before you "remove" them, they will still be visible in the thread.
