I plan on getting Adobe After Effects(because Windows Live Movie Maker can't really do anything), and I wanted to know how to get it. I went on the official Adobe website, and tried looking for After Effects, and found out that the application itself has a "monthly fee" of $20. Is there any possible way to get Adobe After effects without a monthly fee?

EDIT: Is CS6 good enough to be an allternative for Sony Vegas? I heard it was the last version of After Effects that doesn't require a subscription to Creative Cloud. I just hope it's not $600 like Sony Vegas(please tell me it isn't).

GIMP is good for shops and it's free.

You could also look at pixlr, which runs in your browser, or paint.NET. Not sure what exactly you're looking for but both of them have most of the same features as photoshop.

I meant After Effects. Sorry for the misleading title. I probably got After Effects mixed with Photoshop and didn't bother noticing.
