About

Bluesky "Child Lover" Butterfly Symbol Conspiracy Theory refers to a conspiracy theory about the white-and-blue butterfly logo of the social media app Bluesky resembling the butterfly logo meaning "child lover" for the Childlove Online Media Activist group that believes sexual relationships between adults and minors should be decriminalized (also known as MAPs). The resemblance was noted by conspiracy theorists on Twitter / X in mid-November 2024, who said that the "Democrats' newest app" was covertly related to the "child lover" symbol. The theory's relationship to liberal politics was based on the movement to replace X with Bluesky following Elon Musk's acquisition of the website, who's known to espouse right-wing beliefs on his platform.
