I don't fucking understand what the Wounder Woman movie will be about

… I keep seeing the trailers when I go out to theaters and its like, shes fighting in world war one or two. Ok so is that going to be the main threat of the movie? Wounder woman fights living gods and can match Superman in a fight. What the fuck are a bunch of German solders with trench foot going to do to stop her?

That just seems really boring and uninteresting

DC movie logic:
Human normals? Send Wonder Woman.
Superpowered world-ending threat? Send Captain Boomerang and Harley Quinn.

Edit:
She's not even fighting the Nazis, she's fighting World War I German soldiers, like… what?

So? She wouldn't be the first Superhero nerfed on the big screen *cough*Supes*cough*

It feels like a cheap cash-in of the WWI centennial.

Also: mother of god I watched the trailer again to reaffirm that this was actually a thing and holy hell the scene of her slow-walking out of the trench into no man's land is super corny as fuck and so dumb.

The answer to all these questions is "because DC can't think of any movie ideas so they're just ripping off MCU plots."

Why is Wonder Woman fighting in WWI? Because it's ripping off the first Captain America movie's plot, but they don't want to make it too obvious so they set it in a different war.

Why is there no apparent supervillain? Because DC doesn't have any well-known villains that can fit into WWI Germany like Red Skull fit into WWII Germany in the first Captain America movie.

It's ironic because many have noticed how Captain America's movie sorta ripped off parts of the Justice League The Savage Time episodes. However, both of those were actually good.

Don't get me wrong, I really want it to be good. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman all debuted very close to each other (1938, 1939 1941 respectively). Wonder Women herself is arguably the most famous female super hero as well. In spite of this, she extremely behind the other two most prominent DC characters when it comes to theatrically released movies. Superman first shows up in film (not counting serials) is in 1951, with several other movies with him being made later. Batman first shows up in film (not counting serials) in 1966, again, with several other films being made with him later. Wonder Woman doesn't have her film appearance until 2014, as a minor character in The LEGO Movie, and we still haven't had one theatrical film where she is the focus.

When I think of the Marvel cinematic universe now, while there are some things that I would change, most of them are either limited by legal issues (Fantastic Four and X-Men movie rights being under separate studios) or are relatively minor (GIVE THOR HIS FRIGGEN HELMET ALREADY). If people 50 years from now think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a "definitive" version of how Marvel should be, while I don't think it's perfect, I think it's fairly good given the circumstances. Compare that the the DC cinematic universe. When I think of people 50 years from now thinking "this is how DC should be" it's kinda depressing.

I still want the Wonder Woman film to be good, but after the last two, I'm just waiting to see how low the Rotten Tomatoes score is going to be.

So I actually went and watched a trailer. Someone thinks slow-motion bullet time is still novel enough to put in a movie trailer in 2017? The Matrix came out 18 years ago. I also saw some bad CGI.

The movie looks so formulaic and trope-filled even the trailer is boring. I really can't imagine this movie is going to help turn DCCU around, considering studios usually highlight the best parts of a film in a trailer.

Wounder Woman? What is this Wounder Woman movie you speak of? unless wounder is another alternate correct spelling

Considering that BvS DoJ and Sucide Squad flopped, I’m not surprised that this movie will bomb at the box office, or even it didn’t, it will be received poorly, both by critics and most of its fans.
