Reasons that make you instantly shut off a youtube video

Record scratch stock sound effect being used unironically

Your mic sounds like you recorded from a cave and edited the sound with a game boy

Using rage comic faces in >current year

Playing a "spooky" game and doing a fake funni scream at obvious jump scares

Stopping a really engaging video to do a shit comedy skit

"The company I sold my soul to today is…"
[continues for 5 minutes]

Being unnecessarily edgy (excessive swearing, unironic pranks, etc.)

Overreacting to minor things unironically

"YouTube/[Insert definitely not dead thing here] is dead"

When they put overused ''dank'' memes
Beating the deadhorse of crude and edgy humor (that has become more common in the last times)
When they rant to things that they dont like without a reason
when some of them talk about yt drama or salseo (in latin america)
and also beating the deadhorse of the ''negative critic'' (a la AVGN/nostalgia Critic/ MST3K/ cinemasins,, etc) of movies, tv or games (even some are good but not all much)

When you want to watch something regarding a movie/game theory or a review but then they spend a full 5 minutes of useless filler trying to be funny with a skit or making a reference.
It makes the whole thing difficult to watch so you skip and you get another one.

These won't exactly make me click off of a video instantly, but they'll definitely destroy a lot of the viewing experience for me:

>overly loud and obnoxious intro
>long, unnecessary skit sequences
>narrator has an exaggerated tone of voice to the point of being hard to listen to
>shitty audio quality
>overused memes and references

Now for the ones that'll make me click off real fast:

>"background" music that plays in front of the narration so you can barely fucking hear it
>video maker spends the first 5 minutes whoring their social media and Patreon
>video is unscripted and the narrator obviously doesn't know what to say and when
>title/thumbnail is misleading and the video doesn't relate to it at all

Comments are disabled.

Overly long intro.

Cringe compilations with those FilthyFrank and JonTron clips. (It's equivalent of making a funny moments compilation and adding clips of people laughing in between)

Microphone picking up too much details (a.k.a. saliva mouth)

Not getting to the point.

Off-sync video and/or bad framerate.

In terms of let's plays, unnecessary facecam.

Facecam and pointless live commentary during speedrun videos.

Having voice as obnoxious as Nostalgia Critic's screaming.

Jumping on the latest YouTube drama (Everyone hating on Behind the Meme, Idubbz v Ricegum, YouTube is Over party, etc)

“Comments and Ratings are disabled”

Overly Edited videos (Looks like the guy or team who edited your video just did a line of coke and drank 20 Red Bull’s)

A minute long intro

Putting ads throughout the video

Cringe Compilations

Terrible sounding mics

Overly detailed mics

Cringe Compilations that actually makes you cringe

Using stale memes

Not sure if this counts, but seeing "This video previously contained a copyrighted audio track. Due to a claim by a copyright holder, the audio track has been muted" under the video.

God, I can't stand seeing this eyesore of a message. This was very common in the olden days of YT. I don't know if Youtube still enforces this stupid bullcrap, but unless the video has subtitles or just only has music, then I don't think it's worth watching. Even worse is that people who have these can't do much about them.

Star Wars opening text crawl 'parodies'. No offense to any fans, but I have never seen a Star Wars movie. Ever. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. But how is it that I, as someone who is not a fan, can be so FED UP with opening text crawl parodies while the actual fanbase – people that have probably seen twenty times as many of them as I have STILL find it funny or even the least bit entertaining? Just… how!? I can't watch videos of bootleg Star Wars toys or Star Wars video game reviews/playthroughs because I know for a fact that it will contain an opening text crawl parody because "it's never been done before guys" and it will just sour my entire experience.

Fidget spinners mentioned without real context. Fidget spinners. That's the joke. First of all, I don't have an interest in them. But that's fine. People are free to enjoy things that they like. At least, I thought they were. Apparently, the mere mention of a fidget spinner is supposed to make me bust a gut. Something's spinning in a video game? The LPer will call it a fidget spinner and the chat/comments will eat it up. What exactly is the punchline here? People enjoy things that I don't? Har har…? Way to alienate potential viewers of your content for absolutely no reason, creators. At least when things like Sonic OCs are mocked, there's a reason – the edgy, unoriginal, Mary Sue examples of such.

Speaking of padding:

A gag with Richard Strauss – Also Sprach Zarathustra playing while nothing really happens.

Yes, this piece is short but it feels like it lasts ages.

Electronic music, I will close immediately unless it's an useful video. Also if more than one AD plays through the video

That kind of electronic music?

Sorry I'm late to the party, but I just now found this thread, and it's still open:
When listening to music and remix videos, and suddenly – DUBSTEP (Seriously, what're people find about this shit? it just ruined a potential great remix).

When a video that's leaning too much on sex jokes became more awkward than funny.

USING SUDDENLY LOUD SOUND IN ORDER TO BE FUNNY.

Starting to talk about politics (In a video that has nothing to do with it).

Are you fucking kidding me?

They have Roblox intros like this?
I thought this was only a problem in the Minecraft community.

an intro longer than 15 seconds.

Or if its a video trying to explain a really small and simple piece of lore, and i see that its like 10 minutes long. It should not take 12 minutes to explain what the different lighsaber colors mean.

Bad game/ fiction theories, some are descent like the one of mass effect but then you have "Is Mario a psychopath?" "Is Ness sans?" "X is actually in a coma" They are insufferable both in tone and how much they stretch their "evidence".
Also deceptive Lets Plays that didn't look like a let's play in their tumbnail or title, what a great way to show you are clickbait! I am not that into lets play in general most are kind of low effort and obnoxious with some exceptions.
Also Fidget spinners, unless it's Jacks Films.

the voice.
If i hear a voice that sounds like it's trying to force charisma into itself i'm gone.
those people suck

Something I hate even more is when these fuckers try so hard to be "quirky" with their forced enthusiasm that it becomes the most obnoxious thing ever and I can't help but to cringe. Bonus points if their videos are loaded with jump cuts and shitty royalty free music that do nothing but make the videos feel even more fake.
