Mine is mostly Black Flag.

Honestly Punk is such a nebulous genre that it can get hard to define what is or isn't punk. One of my favorite bands, Automagik hangs out in the DIY scene, plays punk shows, and is obviously influenced by punk, but they don't really sound the way most people think of punk. On the other hand, Diarrhea Planet is very obviously punk but don't consider themselves to be. They're both incredible live though so check them out if you get a chance.

Oof, jeez, there's a lot… skate punk has always been one of my favorite subgenres, so bands like, say, 88 Fingers Louie and Strung Out are definitely up there. Pulley, Ten Foot Pole, Pennywise, Lagwagon… of course, I'm also drawn to overtly political bands, particularly left-wing ones. NOFX and Pennywise, for example.

Oh, also, Guttermouth. Guttermouth is fucking fantastic.

I reeeeaaally like Ramshackle Glory. Pat is one of the best lyricists I know of, and his vocal performances carry so much more emotional weight and anger than any other punk band for me, despite not even having a heavy sound.
