Going over the rules, I don't think so.
Okie dokie, you better not get me warning points lol.
If it's essential to the gallery or related, then it is ok, for example Patrick's picture is fine, if the image is shocking (Corpse is decaying, in a putrid state or the image is gory) You might want to ask a moderator before you upload it.

I realize I'm just thinking too much again, so I apologize in advance for this unimportant question. But what if a coffin wasn't essential to a meme but not shocking? For example, what if a coffin that was photoshopped to be tall and skinny and orange with the words "haha long boy" was trending around Halloween, assuming that haha long boy became popular again before that? (It's technically possible.)
And what about other death-related images/ symbols that again, weren't essential to a meme, but a "non-forced" variant of it and that aren't shocking? Like, what if an urn, sarcophagus, or skeleton (including the day of the dead variant) or such shows up, but not in a shocking way?
Again, I realize this is totally unimportant, but I'm afraid I'm unable to reign in my curiosity.

The shock element comes from the dead person, not from the container itself. I don't see anything wrong with anything you are asking about.
IMO, if it's gore then it shouldn't be uploaded unless absolutely necessary.
I'm think that we can agree actual people's deaths (gifs/videos) are also something we don't really want, again, unless needed for documentation (Budd Dwyer Suicide Video). But just pictures of someone who is dead that isn't gory I don't see being a problem.
@ Roy G. Biv: Skeletons, Coffins, etc. I don't see being anything that people as a whole would have a problem with. While I bet someone would be offended, that's the case with literally everything.
Also, just because someone is going to ask, Zombies are 90% of the time perfectly fine. Some of the more gory stuff might be a problem, but that's not been a recent problem.
I think this is the best thread to ask questions about gore. There have been plenty of debate (and thus, meticulous guidelines) regarding sexually questionable nsfw images on this site but discussion about what's okay in terms of gore is very little in comparison.
So pimple popping vids and gifs should be okay (we have an entry on it needs work tho) and so are images and gifs of cutting (#CuttingForBieber) but what about medical gore like cyst removal surgeries? Guro is obviously too explicit either way to be NC, but is animated gore from shows and films okay? (Like those gore animes,) what about reaction images where a guy breaks a limb and the bone pops out (but he's still alive tho.) What about street vids where no blood is shown but the guy gets stoned (like with rocks not weed) Should fan art depicting mildly explicit blood and wounds be under a nsfw cover?
I uploaded this image some months back thinking it's okay but in hindsight might actually offend somebody (blood, minor, death, cutting etc.) and may need to be under nsfw.
I might have more questions in the future.
