I'm having a really hard time. So to make a long story short, an artist I followed on deviantart blocked me for no reason. I never said anything mean or inflammatory to him, all I've ever done was admire his work. He was one of my favorite artists too. So I needed to find a way to get him to unblock me so I could continue to be a fan of his. Only thing I could think of is asking someone else to reach out to him and tell him to unblock me; because again I never said anything to him, it must've been by mistake.

I tried asking reddit, but they were unhelpful. So I turned to other websites. One I tried was tvtropes. I had already been a user for years, but I never used the forums in my life. I didn't know which forum category it would be most appropriate for (there was no web original section). And it was an emergency subject and a very stressful situation that I needed resolved asap; so I had no time to just put it in one forum section and then just get "off topic discussion" after a few hours. So I just put it in 3 different sections, hoping one of them was the "correct one" by the mods.

But guess what? I got no response. You know what I got instead? One of the mods emailing me that my account is permanently banned for "spamming". Not suspended, BANNED. It was literally the first time I ever got in trouble with the mods, but they didn't hesitate to give me the worst punishment. I only ever browsed tvtropes and made a few edits, I didn't care about making a new account (I didn't like my old username anyway). So I made a new account and…….. had to wait for the site to approve me, which most wikis never do. But then….. They denied me, giving me the most generic "your account was denied possibly for one of these reason: blah blah blah". But THEN……. The same mod from before emailed me again…… just to call me a "stupid idiot".

If you want to talk tropes, then this is Disproportionate Retribution, to the extreme. I honestly did not mean to break any rules, they did not have the right forum section for my issue. But I can learn not to do it again. A fair warning would've sufficed since it was the first time. I would even have been ok with the suspension. But PERMANENT BAN is just way too severe. It was the tiniest thing, and they treated it like I posted porn in sfw places. But now it seems like they want to make sure I never use the website ever again in my life. The mods even stooped to name calling. NAME CALLING! Like children!

Please….. how do I fix this?

As for the artist, they just all of a sudden unblocked me. Kind of miraculous, it must have been a mistake after all. So that problem is solved. But I still have the big glaring tvtropes issue to iron out.

You see? This is exactly my problem! There's rarely a clear cut section for anyone's post. And then people say "wrong section" without helping you. So what's wrong with putting something into multiple sections to avoid this? This is why tvtropes banned me. Isn't that just stupid?

Because it’s something someone that wants to spam would do.
While banning you was clearly too harsh, you shouldn’t have posted the same topic in three different sections.

But back to your original question, the only thing you can do is mail a mod and apologize. Don’t mention the name calling, just apologize for what you did, and say that it wasn’t your intention to spam the topic. Then they may unban you. Don’t really know how harsh the mods are in TVTropes.

I sent them an email from the suspension page. That was hours ago. I don't know what it will do though. I think that mod might have some grudge against me.

I can't say I'm surprised, tv tropes has always struck me as hit-or-miss in regards to content/quality control (so many dead links, so man literal-who's linked in the YMMV section), so I'd guess it extends to how they run things in general.

Though pin's right, putting it in three different sections is probably set off a red flag or something. You'd think you'd have gotten just a temp-ban or something first though.

I’m locking the other two threads as there is no reason to have the others open. If OP desires, I am fine with locking this thread as well. general site rules

  • No Duplicates: If there is another thread that pertains to your topic, post your thoughts there instead of starting a new thread.
  • No Flooding or Spamming
  • Promotion of raids has always been against rules.

Listen, people have their own reasons for doing things sometimes. Trying to force them to unblock or aggressively confronting them about it is probably only going to make them feel more justified in doing that.

Uh… okay, you previously stated that you admired his work. I get that faving a work is sorta admiration without literally saying anything to them, but I really didn’t get this vibe from what you said earlier.

AnEmergency? On DeviantArt? At this time of year? At this time of day? Why?? I get that someone you like blocking you can be stressful, but this isn’t a life or death situation right?
Lemme see if I can find some details and-
    Uh…
    Oh my god

So this was the part where I felt like had to get involved. It’s one thing to tell a user to follow the rules. It’s another when it is drama that involves a person on another site that you happened to know about.

This “emergency” on DeviantArt involves the author of the Serina project . I have doubts most of you know about this, but it is a Speculative Evolution project that I happened to be aware of around half a decade ago. Honestly, when you start out with just guppies and canaries, the first few million years of the Spec Evo going on are kind of dull for my tastes tbh. But last year, The Youtube Channel Curious Archive did few videos about the project (trust me, concepts get way more interesting the more time has passed as shown in the later videos.)

Anyways, there are a lot of reasons that they could have blocked you, from your massive collection of favorited anime tiddes, to just rubbing them the wrong way. However, after going through your DA activity, if I had to bet, the twelve comments made in one day on one specific artwork, many of which essentially say the same thing probably felt aggressive and spammy to them. They might have just been tired and wanted a break.

Okay, so I’m going to give you some advice. People who get passionate about certain things may get a bit too passionate, which can often be off-putting to others. The old internet phrase “Lurk More” used to be applied, which essentially meant, watch and learn more and mature more. I also get that this is a lot more negative than you may want to hear. I might advise seeking some help in dealing with neurodivergence. While people who have minds that operate in different ways are often great in thinking creatively, they often have difficulty in picking up social cues and interacting with people. Not to be rude, but (quoting from a now deleted comment) “I am a dromaeosaur. A theropod. A raptor. A secondarily flightless bird with teeth and claws and big brain energy” really gives chūnibyō/chuunibyou vibes.
I should also add that it is entirely possible that the author of Serina may also have a different mindset than the average person. While this may make them great at envisioning fantastical worlds and drawing, they may not be the best at handling human interactions. it is entirely reasonable that they were too stressed at the moment by your behavior and instead of lashing out at you, they just wanted you to be quiet for a bit so they could collect themselves.

Alright, after being blocked by Serina’s creator, you proceeded to spam a lot of other users on DA with “Excuse me sir, I really need your help with something. It's about Serina.” (Despite the fact that several of those DA users you spammed of these specified on their page they do not use he/him pronouns.) Yeah, don't do this. This type of spammy behavior really makes it look like you don't care about them as people, only as mindless minions who you believe should just follow your whims at the drop of a hat. It is only going to make you look worse in the long run.

As you yourself admit in several places, apparently the Serina artist unblocked you and then apologized. And as a follow up to this, about someone you consider “one of your favorite artists” you comment:
he should grow a pair and stop being a sensitive snowflake thinking everyone is out to get him.

    Jesus Christ dude.
Oh no, you shouldn't comment on his stuff, he might block you like he did me, like the asshole he is.

No wonder people don’t like you.

You know what? After he unblocked me, I blocked him. Let's see how he likes it.
I want everyone to know what an ass he is. How do I do that?

Holy shit, they literally apologized and unblocked you, the very thing that you wanted. YOU CONSIDERED THIS AN “EMERGENCY SITUATION.” This being resolved in two days is an unreasonably fast turnaround for this kind of thing and IT STILL ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU.
You wanna submit this to r/AmItheAsshole and see what other people think about this situation?
Seriously, take the advice of one of the people who you spammed on DA about this: “I think you should wait a little while for things to cool down.”
Also calm yo tits, no one cares you wanna marry Mai from BlazBlue.

I’m going to save you the embarrassment and forum character limit by not directly linking to the DA posts or screencaping them here. I do hope that you can learn from this experience and move on. But anyone with enough curiosity and a basic internet search engine can check it now.

Cool, so that’s the first Paragraph, let’s move on.
TheStupidRaptor wrote:

No posts exist on your reddit between 16 days ago and ~7 hours ago. Not even removed ones are showing up when other older removed ones (like where you try to report the entire r/Xenoblade_Chronicles subreddit for pedophilia) do. I’m not going to pretend I’m an expert on how other websites work, but this is rather suspicious when your narrative seemed to indicate you went to Reddit first. Second, given that the most upvoted comment in your ~7 hour old threads reads:

Does your personal vendetta against TV Tropes mods really need multiple threads in the r/tvtropes subreddit? Do you want to get banned from here as well because if not you're going about it in a really funny way.

I’d say they were extremely helpful. I would highly suggest taking their advice.

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

This problem has literally nothing to do with TV Tropes. Why would you think this would even be on your list of places to seek help for this even if you thought it was a good idea?

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

Yeah, that’s called spam, literally every website has rules against this, including this one. Again, you would do good to see behavior that is and is not allowed and actually read rules. In some situations, it is indeed easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission, but basic online etiquette rules are not one of those things.

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

If a mod’s only interaction with you is seeing you don’t care enough to read the basic rules the site has, or even basic rules every website has and just expect them to clean up your mess for you, it’s no wonder you got on their bad side immediately. I’m more surprised that you were surprised.

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

…Did you happen to use the same name you used on DA and KYM for TV Tropes? Because if you did, you kinda set yourself up for that one…
Wait, I’m looking at the email that you screencaped to Reddit now and…
You tried to create a new account under “CunningRaptor”.
And the response back was “Your old username was more accurate”

You asserted that this mod called you "a stupid idiot" and yet the evidence that you yourself submitted vindicates that this did not happen. Sure, I get that this is still rude, but you’re characterization of the situation is far from how others would see it. This is basically just a slight step up from going "NO U".
also you’re spending too much time looking at anime tiddies and not cleaning your inbox

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

If you want to talk tropes

Cool, but you yourself just admitted that wasn’t what you were using the site for…

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

Okay cool, again, why did you think this was an appropriate website for your problem in general?

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

So when does having your account banned mean that you as a person can never use the website again in your life? This is outrageous, it's unfair. It's a website EVERYONE uses.

This is TV Tropes. While it can be fun, it is a website known (usually lovingly) for being a pointless waste of time.

Being banned from websites isn't great, but it happens. Throwing a tantrum over it isn't going to help. Indeed, you are more likely to get banned from more websites if you keep it up like you have.

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

Out of curiosity, uh, how old are you? Don’t tell me literally, I but like, you really sound like you are too young to be spending this much time online. I assume that you have to at least be a teenager, as no one makes a DA page when they are five. But seriously, you need some time to grow. The fact that you referred to one of your favorite artists as “a sensitive snowflake” who is an “ass” and “needs to grow a pair” and then get offended by someone saying “Your old username was more accurate” is embarrassing.

Yeah, really proves my point about needing to get vibes for places better before you start posting.

Just to be clear, your ideas I one of the other threads:
TheStupidRaptor wrote:

So let's all make memes about how tvtropes mods are fat and ugly assholes who ban people for no reason and abuse their power and like to diddle little girls. They deserve it.

Do this and we will just straight up ban you. If that isn’t clear enough then there’s no helping you. KYM isn’t your personal army. We’re not starting a “war” between two different sites because you over reacted to someone else on a third website and then when you got everything you asked for there, you proceeded to actively ruin it.

Seriously, if your intention was to drive the artist to deactivate their DA account and remove all their works from public comment, you're doing a great job. I would hate for one person to be the major reason a creative artist no longer feels comfortable in being able to talk with their fans, but you're well on your way to making that happen.

TheStupidRaptor wrote:

I want people to see very boldly that "Fighteer is evil". I'll never be able to use tvtropes with him around. Now everyone needs to band together against him.

Cool, you don’t like someone else on another website because they banned you for not following rules. That’s fine. That’s not a public service announcement. This post was made literally two hours after you were wanting everyone to make memes about how all the mods on TV Tropes were fat ugly pedophiles. I can’t wait to see how differently you’ll think just two hours from now.

At the rate you’re going, you’re going to be banned from way more than just TV Tropes. KYM Mods were already talking about how long until you were banned before this incident. However, unlike TV Tropes and Reddit, here you got an indepth analysis of your post history. You got a temporary a 24 hour suspension, and some advice as well something close to your mom finding your porn stash. Think about how you want to proceed. You still have a chance to make amends and apologize on DA. If you just move on you will probably be fine on Reddit too. Your behavior on KYM isn't great, but if you pay attention to this post, your previous warnings, and lurk moar, you'll be fine.

You really shouldn’t ignore the few friends that you actually have. One gave you the best advice you’re going to get and you’ve ignored it so far: “I think you should wait a little while for things to cool down.”

I'll just echo what the others said OP, and say you should definitely just take a break from the internet for a week or two. You're putting way too much thought into this whole thing, it's not healthy. Just take a break and clear your head some.

There's far bigger things to worry about than being blocked by some artist online, and spamming multiple websites isn't going to undo it any time soon.

Reminds me a LOT of myself from like 2 years or 1 year ago, its weird to stare at yourself.

Though Ï didnt get better or matured I just got better at hiding my insanity but yeah

I dont know what my point is

seriously though, this stuff is hilariously crazy. It's the kind of autism that really only could've come from DeviantArt.

I have my suspicions that Raptor might be autistic. He is the reason why I stopped using 'droogie' as he mistaken it as an offensive term right off the bat. A normal person would Google search a word to understand, but not him.

Hell, I even posted a definition on his wall to throw him a bone. But he didn't read it.
