it is highly suggested to look at your post once you created it so you can evaluate it for flaws.
Highly suggested, yes, but also nearly always disregarded. Think of it this way, had you evaluated this post, you would have seen the entire thing as one flawed suggestion and chosen not to post. Forum posts aren't anywhere near important nor sensitive enough to warrant a secondary method of modifying them. You can use the "edit" button like everyone else with no disadvantage to yourself. It just becomes a highly unnecessary addition.
I know this was brought up before
Brought up, yes, but never discussed in any capacity beyond "this would be kinda nice because I'm lazy." We brought up a partnership with 9gag before, too, but nobody's saying thats on the table.
I don’t know if it was an easy fix for the web developers to just make this happen or not.
The fact that you remember this on the forums at one point means one of two things, really:
- This used to be a feature of KYM, and was removed for whatever reason.
- This was something to do with browsers or (extremely unlikely) just the way whatever KYM was built on handles things.
In either case, it isn't really relevant to the site development, and in most cases it's probably preferred to be left this way. Such a feature would, in a large number of cases, have no impact on the forums at all (like this thread, for instance). But at least we know now.
