If not i understand but 1500 feels too short sometimes, and yea this argument can go on forever with people finding 2000 short too but i think 2000 or 3000 would be a good place to condense people writing long comments into one comment.

While I'm not certain about the current state of the code, stricter posting and voting limits where implemented to decrease the websites data usage over the years. Increasing the character limit would act contrary to those previous fixes.

In the meantime, I would simply recommend just not being as profusely verbose. In my experience if you have hit the character limit, you've reached the point where people just aren't going to bother reading what you have to say.
