Jeff Bezos' "Alive Girl" Text refers to a series of jokes and memes regarding a text message sent from Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos in which he addresses his alleged romantic partner Lauren Sanchez as "alive girl."

Origin

On January 10th, 2019, the National Enquirer^[1] published alleged text messages from Bezos to Sanchez. In one of the messages, Bezos allegedly wrote, "I love you, alive girl. I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon."

Following the post, people began posting jokes and references to the text messages. That morning, Twitter ^[2] user @somegoodgirls tweeted, "a nice alive girl" (shown below, left).

That morning, other people began posting jokes and opinions about the tweet. Twitter^[3] user @MikeSington tweeted, "Text messages Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos sent to woman he’s having an affair with revealed: 'I love you alive girl…I will show you with my body.' 'I want to smell you, I want to breathe you in.' Yuck! Alexa, make it stop." The tweet received more than 10 likes (shown below, left). Entertainment Weekly writer Dana Schwartz tweeted, "Jeff Bezos sexts like he's an AI in a human suit." The tweet received more than 4,700 retweets and 25,000 likes in 24 hours (shown below, center). Twitter^[4] user @WELCOME_ZIDANE tweeted a picture from the film Bicenntenial Man and a quote from the text (shown below, right).
