No, i fucking love call of duty, its fun and addicting. COD has kind of a hatedom, they have some justifiable reasons for their hate, But most of the time its just people hating for the sake of hating. So there is no reason to feel ashamed about what you like.
I think it gets way overhyped and I think the community consists of mostly squeakers, but I still love playing the games. I just mainly avoid multiplayer. Additionally, I think it gets a lot of hate because of the people that love to hate on popular stuff.
Call of Duty is a fun game, I'll give you that. The problem isn't really with the individual game but rather with the entire series itself, or specifically with the company(ies) that releases the games with its annual "sequels", useless DLCs and what not
No, not really. I can occasionally enjoy it. It doesn't really deserve all the hate it gets really. It may recycle, but it's not all bad.

It's not a horrible game, but it's not for everyone.
The thing is, COD has atwo factors that made it have a hatedom:
1. The online playerbase: this is something every single online game has. Trolls, "noobs, flamers, feeders, etc. Plus when the game can be played with a mic everything gets multiplied.
2. The overall lack of difference with other FPS and other games of the COD franchise: let's face it, the game can be fun but that doesn't mean are unique. I was a fan of COD, Medal of Honor andmany others mainly because each had more than just "we're in war". Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel the older games that were setled in the cold war, WW2 or any old war, were more creative and at the same time being accurate.
i was a big FPS fan back in the age of the PS2, and Call Of Duty along with Medal of Honor were my 2 favorite games at the time. The problem is that Call of Duty has been stagnant ever since the release of 4. Ghosts is a good example of the series taking a backtrack instead of moving forward. 4 was at the peek so much that the developers just don't know where to move the series from there. Which is why every CoD after 4 is basically the same thing over and over again, just with a different skin. (That, and making the series have an annual release is generally not a good idea)
MW3 is a great game. It's also the only CoD I own. The problem with CoD is that if you own one, you own 'em all.
Oh, and the squeakers. Lotsa squeakers.
I don't like the multiplayer on COD but I really like the zombies.
Lots of explosions, conspiracy theories (Ops series), war crimes and guns. Somewhat lampshades the future of warfare (i hate to say that), but yeah, the game itself is tasteful in a way, but ultimately an overrated game.
You're fine. Least you're not a Robloxfag.
Like whatever the fuck you like- why should you give a shit? (Unless you've an idiot about it- that's my one caveat. But I see no reason to assume that you are.)

The only CoD games I've actually ever played were MW2 and MW3. I can say those games are good (though it's not really my taste of games). But I think I can understand why a lot of people hate it. Overall it's a good game, but it's kinda overhyped.
I've played one CoD game. I think it's good and fun. Can't remember but I'm pretty sure it was Black Ops; relatively recent and all. What I can't stomach is the fact that it's all the same or so I hear. I wouldn't buy the sequels and prequels if they're all basically the same. That's my only qualm about it I suppose.
Call of Duty suffers the Stacy Malibu syndrome, but, do I care? I don't care, however, I can agree that it's not for everyone. Whenever a CoD game lands on my hands, I play it purely for the campaign mode. Black Ops being my favorite of the bunch.
Call of Duty is fun, but it doesn't have long lasting fun. I enjoyed the earlier versions, but the newer versions feels just like the old ones remade with some perks.
If you try it out in the beginning, then you of course have no experience with it and the games are still very fun. Don't be ashamed over your taste in vidya.

You have a bad taste in video games and children's tv shows.
Don't watch MLP and play COD, watch a real show and play a real game, like Camp Lazlo and tf2

Call of Duty & My Little Pony against Camp Lazlo & Team Fortress 2?
But honestly OP, the disagreement of whether or not Call of Duty is good is just taken too seriously by a few of the people involved.
You're opinion about the series is no more invalid then a opinion from anyone else, It's just that with both a huge fandom and hatedom of the game, Of course the fruit barrel is gonna have bad apples, So you're going to have both fanatics and heated haters act in a ridiculous way, But you don't have to listen to either of them.
If you feel enjoyment playing the game, then feel enjoyment playing the game, your taste is vaild.
As for my opinion of the series, It has been a while since I've really touched a Cod game, but I enjoy Treyarch's "Coffee" more then Infinity Ward's "Tea."
The Modeerrr Warfar trilogy and CoD of Duty:Ghost(Call of duty of duty ghost ;>) don't really hold my attention,
But the CoD of duty:WaW at War, and CoD of Duty:Black Cops 1 and 2, aren't that bad.
If I had a good enough internet connection to be able download and play Black Ops 2 on a steam sale:I would so.

let me note here: CALL OF DUTY IS NOT THE ONLY GAME I FUCKING HAVE. I love tf2, and have played around 40 hours of it on steam. i also enjoy games like borderlands, GTA and bioshock immensly. also, there was no reason for you to bring up that i like MLP, a fact that is unrelated to this thread.

I'm gonna put my two sense here: No. Taste is subjective be definition everything here has it's fans and it's detractors. Even assumed sacred cows or pariahs
And this is coming from someone who hasn't even touched an FPS (I find most of them too gritty and attempting to be edgy, though I do like Bioshock Infinite and a considering playing that sometime)
No, it's okay to like cod. However, if you think cod is the best video games can ever be, THEN there's a problem

For me, CoD tends to fluctuate in terms of quality.
I've never played most of the games, but that's mainly because I check the game to make sure if I'll like it.
Here are the ones I've played and liked:
1
2
MW1
WaW
BO2
I might try Advanced Warfare, but I probably won't get it day one because I don't have a good enough PC, or the consoles it's on.

Don't be silly, Call of Duty isn't horrible. There are games that really are poor in taste. Call of Duty is nothing.
