A Happy 20th Anniversary to the PlayStation 2! Discuss your memories of the PlayStation 2 here.

My first PlayStation 2 game was Onimusha while my first DVD for the PlayStation 2 was Spaceballs.

Me and my older sister got one for Christmas back in the day when I was still 7 or 8. Used to watch her play Final Fantasy X. We also played fighting and racing games together, stuff like Need for Speed or Tekken.

Star Wars Battlefront I & II were my personal two favourite games for that console (and still rank among my favourites of all times). Gotta bust out the ol' PS2 one day and pop in the Battlefront disks for a dose of childhood nostalgia.

Friendly reminder the PS2 is so far the only console to still receive new games while also having TWO generations of successors available.

I'm honestly still surprised at how long the thing lasted and it's got some of my favorite games exclusive to it.

And remember when people thought Saddam Hussein was trying to build a supercomputer out of daisy-chained PS2s? It turned out to be fake, but still, The U.S. Air Force did build a something similar out of PS3s

The PS2 was indisputably one of the coolest consoles of all time, hands down.

I got my PS2 with Worms 3D and that was my whole world for a time: playing against bots, experimenting with the destruction of entire escenarios until only tiny islands remained, having a blast with the campaign mode… and stupid young me selling the game for naive reasons. I've been tracking it down to this day.

I found Twisted Metal Black some time later and boy, let me tell ya, I wasn't supposed to play that game at my age back then. The storylines of some of the characters (especially No Face) fucked me up and left with nightmares for some days. And yet, despite all of that, Black remains my favorite Twisted Metal game of all time.

And then, about four years ago I got to play Silent Hill 2 for the first time and it instantly became my favorite game of the console, dethroning TMB and taking the crown for itself.

I never had a penchant for snowboarding or any other sport, but I played the shit out of SSX Tricky and SSX 3 as a kid for some reason.

I loved a lot of games on it like HSX and Resident Evil Outbreak and Outbreak File #2. Its also where my love for Monster Hunter began since it debuted on it.
It and PSP are also the only non Nintendo and PC consoles Ive ever had.

I remember getting those monthly games you can get that were demo discs for each game that was to come out that year.

It was the first home console I ever used and owned. I can only thank my dad for having one. (I'm not sure if he got it before or after I was born. I was born on 2000.)
