I heard the news too. It was sad to hear the coronavirus got the voice of Soldier. Damn that coronavirus!
He was also the voice of Peppy Hare in Star Fox 64, meaning the guy who originally gave us the famous "barrel roll" meme is also gone.

He was in poor health prior to that as well (he had a stroke a 2 months prior to his death).
But yes, kind of sad that this happened.
