As of me making this post it seems like it actually got put on places like the Nintendo eShop an hour early since Quakecon's opening ceremony is supposed to be 12 PM CENTRAL time, not eastern.
But yep id Software's sci-fi follow up to Quake has gotten an official remaster and it's available right now. It comes with the entire original campaign, the two expansions by Rogue and Xatrix, all multiplayer content, plus a brand new expansion called "Call of the Machine" developed by MachineGames which is a surprisingly lengthy 28 levels long. In addition, the entirety of the N64 port of Quake 2 is also included, including its multiplayer maps, much like how the remaster of Quake 1 also included the option to play the N64 port of that game as "free DLC" (I'm a little surprised the PS1 port isn't included, at least as of now, because IIRC the PS1 port of Quake 2 had some unique elements as well)
So yeah if you're a fan of 90s FPS games I'd highly recommend grabbing this, especially as it's only $10. I already played Quake 2 and its 90s expansions years ago and really enjoyed them, and MachineGames expansion that was included in the Quake 1 remaster was really good so I'm excited to play "Call of the Machine" for Quake 2.
