Quite a pleasant surprise if I do say so myself, as I was hoping this would happen if the deal went through (which is did last week as of posting this thread). Yeah no doubt he's leaving with a massive golden parachute, but I'm just glad he won't be the one running that side of the business under Microsoft.
I didn't put it in the title but weirdly another big name attached to a company Microsoft owns is also leaving his company, namely Bethesda's head of publishing Pete Hines, probably the most visible face related to Bethesda after Todd Howard, is also retiring. Source
